Ramon Gonzales Romo

On behalf of Ramon Romo Sr and the entire Romo family, thank you for taking your time to share and donate to support Ramon in his journey ahead. 

Ramon is a loving and devoted husband, father of four, PawPaw to 8, and great PawPaw to 3.

Ramon was diagnosed with a serious lung disease, Pulmonary Fibrosis, Pulmonary Hypertension and Sarcoidosis in August 2025, which has drastically changed his life over the last year, resulting in Oxygen full time. Ramon is determined to fight his disease and fight more time with his family and to get back to doing the things he loves to do such as fishing and watching his grandsons play sports.

Ramon continues to remain grounded by his faith in Christ. Devoted to his Catholic faith, he prays the rosary and reads his bible everyday. It’s his faith in God that helps provide extra strength and comfort that he needs.

Ramon spent more than 30 years serving others through his job as Head Custodian at Crestview Elementary and Waco ISD.

Ramon is currently being evaluated to be listed for a double lung transplant, which offers him the hope of more years with his wife, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Ramon understands how heartbreaking and also how precious the gift of life can be after losing his 17 year old grandson, Nathan in 2011, it was Nathan’s gift of organ donation that helped many families get extra time with their loved ones.

We are thankful that through the nonprofit Help Hope Live, which assists transplant patients with medical expenses that go beyond what insurance covers, Ramon’s friends and family can come together to help raise funds. All donations are tax-deductible and every dollar raised will go directly toward Ramon’s transplant-related expenses.
