God Has Carried Rhema Through a Lifelong Battle. Now We Just Need to Clear the Financial Wall
Rhema is my little sister. If you know her, you know she is the kind of person who fills a room with warmth. She is a devoted wife and the fiercely loving mom of three wild, beautiful little boys aged 5, 7, and 9. Her days are a chaotic, wonderful blur of washing dirt out of baseball uniforms, cheering until she’s hoarse from the sidelines, and filling her kitchen with the smell of fresh-baked treats. Baking is her love language—whether it’s a birthday cake or a simple batch of cookies, it’s how she blesses everyone around her.
But for her entire life, Rhema has been carrying a quiet, heavy burden. Rhema was diagnosed at the tender age of 3 months with Alpha-1 Antitrypsin Deficiency, a genetic condition that destroys the liver. I still remember the terror our family felt when the doctors told our parents that Rhema wouldn’t make it past her teenage years without a transplant. As her older sibling, I watched her defy those odds every single day.
Rhema didn’t just survive; she built a beautiful life. She thrived through her teens and twenties, fell in love, and brought her three amazing boys into this world. She chose joy over fear. But now, at 33, her body is tired. Her liver is failing, and we are officially out of time. A few weeks ago, we got what felt like a miracle from the transplant board. They looked at her medical files and told her she is the “perfect specimen” for a new liver. Her doctors are ready. The medical team is ready. A match could save her life tomorrow. But right when we thought we could breathe, the most heartbreaking door slammed in our faces. The transplant list isn’t just about medical need—it is strictly tied to finances.
Because Rhema’s post-transplant care requires incredibly expensive, anti-rejection medications and constant specialized medical monitoring, the hospital requires proof of a massive financial safety net and premium insurance before they will perform the surgery. Right now, Rhema’s income and current insurance don’t meet that financial threshold. It is an agonizing, cruel reality: my vibrant, 33-year-old little sister is medically perfect for a lifesaving transplant, but she is being held back by a price tag.
Her three little boys need their mom. They need her at the baseball diamond. They need her to bake their future birthday cakes and watch them grow into men. Her husband needs his partner. And I need my little sister.
Yet, we know that our God is bigger than any financial barrier. He has carried Rhema this far for a purpose, and we are trusting completely in His provision to open this final door.
Please consider donating to give this mom a second chance —and above all, please cover Rhema, her husband, their boys, and her medical team in prayer.
We know that where man sees an impossibility, God sees an opportunity for His glory. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.
