🚐 Help Drive Me Into the Future Because Where I’m Going, I Actually Do Need Roads Help Me Fund a Wheelchair-Accessible Van

Hi friends! My name is Ryan Logan. I’m 28 years old from Akron, Ohio, and I was diagnosed with cerebral palsy at the age of two. I use a wheelchair to get around—but as anyone who knows me will tell you, I’m determined not to let that stop me from living a full and abundant life.

For the past 11 years, I’ve been pursuing God’s calling to become a hospital chaplain—accompanying patients and families during some of the hardest moments of their lives as a calm, non-anxious presence.

After earning my bachelor’s and master’s degrees, I am now completing my final unit of Clinical Pastoral Education training. In other words… this dream is no longer just “someday.” It’s actually happening.

The biggest obstacle right now? Transportation.

Currently, I rely on door-to-door wheelchair-accessible transportation just to get to the hospital three days a week while I’m in training—two day shifts plus one overnight on-call shift on weekends. Most services charge per trip, and sometimes it can cost as much as $350 each way 😅

As I move forward toward my ultimate goal of full-time employment as a hospital chaplain, this current transportation setup simply won’t be sustainable.

That’s why I’m fundraising for a wheelchair-accessible van.

Having reliable transportation would completely transform my life. It would allow me to:

✅ Work full-time as a chaplain

✅ Attend Mass and stay active in serving my local parish

✅ Hire drivers at a more affordable rate

✅ Support myself and, one day, a future wife and family

✅ Build greater independence and flexibility to go where I need to go, when I need to go there

✅ And yes… actually take my girlfriend Gretchen on a date night once in a while because she deserves it 😄

More than anything, this van would help me step into the life God is calling me to live.
