Family and friends of Sol Sanchez are raising money for the nonprofit Help Hope Live to fund uninsured medical expenses associated with a catastrophic illness. Sol has chosen to fundraise with Help Hope Live in part because donations are tax deductible for contributors and will only be used to cover medical and related expenses.

Help Sol Walk, Talk, and Grow Alongside His Twin Brother

Sol Rico is a joyful and deeply loved three-year-old twin who has been fighting since his very first breath.

Sol and his twin brother, Cielo, were born at just 26 weeks. Sol experienced a brain injury at birth and spent five months in the NICU. He was later diagnosed with PVL, cerebral palsy, epilepsy, and cortical visual impairment (CVI).

Today, Sol is four months seizure-free, and we are incredibly grateful. But getting his seizures under control wasn’t the finish line—it gave us the baseline we needed to keep moving forward.

Sol is not yet able to independently crawl, walk, or talk, and sitting independently is still something he works incredibly hard at. While Cielo runs, plays, and talks, Sol spends hours each week in physical, occupational, and speech therapy working toward the foundational skills that could give him greater mobility, communication, and independence.

Our hope is simple: we want to give Sol every opportunity to walk, talk, communicate his needs, explore his world, and play alongside his twin brother.

We are raising funds for eligible medical treatments, intensive therapies, specialized care, and the travel and lodging required to access care that is not fully covered by insurance. These expenses can reach tens of thousands of dollars out of pocket.

We know no treatment can promise a specific outcome. What we can do is continue giving Sol access to opportunities that may help him reach his fullest potential.
