June 14 Fundraiser Will Rally Support for “Rainbow Baby” Ellie Cooper
BOONTON, N.J.—Ellie Cooper was born following a devastating loss for her family. Now 3 years old, Ellie lives with cerebral palsy and other rare diagnoses. Ellie’s family needs a wheelchair van to continue to transport their precious “rainbow baby” safely around Boonton and beyond—a cost insurance will not cover.

In addition to online donations, an upcoming fundraiser on June 14 will help to rally the community and fuel hope with special guest Assemblywoman Marisa Sweeney.
“The Road Ahead” Fundraiser Details
When: Sunday, June 14 from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Where: Boonton Elks Lodge at 125 Cornelia Street, Boonton, NJ 07005
What: Live entertainment, including DJ, magic, and comedy, plus a variety of refreshments with family-friendly activities throughout the afternoon plus an in-person and online silent auction.
Special Guest: Assemblywoman Marisa Sweeney
Cost: $20 adult ticket, $10 child age 3-10, free under age 3.

Ellie’s Story
Born after her family experienced a devastating loss, Ellie is known as a “rainbow baby.” She was born at 26 weeks and started her life in the NICU. Her early delivery saved her life, but it also led to multiple complex medical needs.
Now 3 years old, Ellie lives with cerebral palsy and 3 rare genetic disorders as well as autism. She uses a wheelchair and faces challenges with physical movement and behavior.
Ellie’s family hoped they wouldn’t need an accessible van so soon in her life. However, in January, Ellie’s father and 3 oldest siblings were involved in a car accident during the school drop-off line.
As a result, a wheelchair van is now a dire necessity for the family—and insurance will not assist with the cost.
“Ellie needs an adult to keep her safe in the backseat, and a standard vehicle doesn’t allow for that,” Stephanie explained. “Even a 20-minute trip to school is becoming a dangerous gamble on her safety.”
Knowing the cost of a safe van could easily reach or exceed $80,000 with no help from insurance, the family turned to the trusted medical fundraising nonprofit Help Hope Live.
When the Boonton community heard about this urgent need, they took action.

Ellie’s family has been blown away by the support. “We are absolutely overwhelmed,” said Stephanie in a May page update. “From the bottom of our hearts, thank you…Your generosity is what keeps us moving forward.”
