In August 2015, daddy had to go to the hospital because he wasn’t feeling well and the doctors told him that his kidneys were failing. After that day everything changed. Daddy has to be on his dialysis machine every day. We all had to move in with Nummie and papa so they could help take care of us. Daddy is no longer able to take us to daycare every morning or make us our favorite breakfast like he used to. After his dialysis, he doesn’t have the energy to play with us as much or lift us up in the air anymore. Our Nummie helps with taking care of us and our dad as much as she can. She is really worried about daddy. Nummie said that we are too young to understand what’s going on. But we know that daddy needs a kidney to be donated to him and that a kidney from a living person is better for him. He still has not found a donor but he is hopeful that he will find a donor soon. In the meantime, his doctor’s appointments and life expenses are wearing on him since he is unable to work full-time.
We are told that the hardest days are yet to come but we can make it all happen if we reach out for help and that’s what we are doing. We are kindly asking for our community to help make it happen. We are scared for daddy to get a transplant but he said it will be lifesaving but very very expensive. There are many medical bills that he and his insurance are not able to pay for especially since daddy is not working like before. Daddy has helped so many people at his job as a counselor so we think he deserves a hand too.
To help with the financial burden of Daddy’s uninsured expenses, a fundraising campaign in his honor has been established with Help Hope Live, a trusted nonprofit organization that has been providing community-based fundraising guidance to patients and their families for more than 30 years. All donations are tax deductible to the full extent allowed by law, are held by Help Hope Live in the South-Atlantic Kidney Transplant Fund, and are administered by Help Hope Live for transplant-related expenses only. Please consider a contribution.
If you are interested being screened to see if you are a match to donate your beautiful healthy kidney to our Daddy, please contact Evette Lewis. 202-570-2842
Our dad is our Superman. Please help us get our super hero back. Your support is important to the overall success of Daddy’s struggle. On behalf of our daddy and all of our family, we thank you in advance of your kind consideration.

Ronnell, Zion, Lewie and Nummie~ I will be praying for you and put you on our prayer list at church, too. I know that prayers are awesome, but money is helpful and I wish that I could give a bigger donation. I've passed along your page in hope that it will bring more attention to your need. And even though I know it's very unlikely that I would be a match, I plan on contacting Anita to see if it feasible to go on and be screened~ may God give your family strength, peace and provision and healing!!!

God bless this family! I know the feeling of having to fend for 2 children, as a single mother. I have two beautiful sons. Recently, I've had 2 "minor" health scares that put me out of work for a period of time. I am currently struggling with my second issue which is requiring me to go through with two different surgeries. I cannot afford to donate any money for this family. What I do have to offer is my love through prayer. I would also be willing to donate one of my kidneys to help you, if at all possible. My blood type is O Positive. I would be willing to do whatever tests needed to see if I would be a match. There isn't a day that goes by that I could ever imagine not being able to do the simple things in life for my babies. Please, if I can help, I would be honored.
Kimberly
I am blood type O and would be wrong to donate a kidney. I am 19 years old and live in Pennsylvania.

Ronnell, saw your story on our local news in the Hampton Roads area last night (5/5/16). Have already inquired about being a donor but our local newscaster gave the wrong blood type. Is a blessing your parents are helping you with the kids. Is also a blessing your Mom is trusting in God to bring you through this. God doesn't keep bad things from happening to His children but he puts people and things in place to get us through the storms of life. May God provide a donor kidney through a generous person and may that bring the necessary healing to your body. Am committed to pray for you because of the story I saw on the news last night. Glad to see social media is helping.

God bless you all. I'm so sorry you and your family have to endure this pain. I read your story and wanted to reach out and let you know that after giving birth to my daughter 7 weeks ago I found out I am Type O+ blood. I have been reading and researching kidney transplants. I'm not sure if I could be your donor, but if a female can donate to a male, I would be delighted to give you the gift of a better life and give your children their father back. Please email me if I could be of any help. Jessica.benhamza@gmail.com.

Dear Ronnell,
My husband is Dr. Douglas Keith at the University of Virginia, Former Medical Director, Kidney Transplant Nephrologist. Please make an appointment. You can reach him at dsks9@uva.com. You might want to consider double listing in another state. It will double your chances. Look at his research on minorities. He is an expert. However we are moving soon, so please come soon? Actually, upon his advice you may want want to move to another state completely. I will be praying for you. Don't wait too long. You'll be okay.
