Help Tammy Safely Reach Mayo Clinic

Hi, my name is Janet, and I’m Tammy’s daughter.

I’m organizing this fundraiser because I’ve watched my mom’s world become smaller as her health has become more complicated. She is battling a severe autonomic disorder that causes profound orthostatic intolerance and circulation problems. Recently, she also suffered a pulmonary embolism, making safe transportation even more critical.

Today, every trip to Mayo Clinic requires my stepdad, Nick, to manually load her heavy power wheelchair onto a small utility trailer. Once they arrive, they unload it and transfer her again. These repeated transfers aren’t just difficult—they worsen her symptoms, drain her energy, and increase the physical demands of every medical appointment.

Tammy depends on Mayo Clinic for specialized care that isn’t available closer to home. Missing appointments isn’t an option, but getting there safely has become one of the biggest challenges our family faces.

We are raising funds to purchase a wheelchair-accessible van so she can remain safely in her power wheelchair during transportation. Public funding has already been approved to help cover the accessibility conversion, but our family is responsible for purchasing the vehicle itself. Every dollar raised helps close that gap and brings us closer to a safe, reliable way for her to continue receiving the medical care she needs.
