**Fundraiser for Heart Transplant and Associated Costs**
**Help Save a Life: Support My Journey to a Heart Transplant**
Dear Friends, Family, and Kind-hearted Strangers,
I need your help to stay alive. That might sound dramatic, but it’s my reality right now. I need a new heart, and the costs are crushing me. Between losing my ability to work and my children’s SSI payments (they just turned eighteen), I’m down $2,000 a month. And the bills? They keep coming. Here’s the thing: getting a new heart isn’t just about the surgery. It’s about somehow getting from Baltimore to Philadelphia and D.C. for endless doctor’s appointments. It’s about affording medications I’ll need for the rest of my life. It’s about keeping a roof over my head while I fight for my life. I’ve never been good at asking for help. But right now, I don’t have a choice. Every dollar helps – whether it’s covering gas for a doctor’s visit or helping with my heart medication. And if you can’t donate? Sharing my story means just as much. I know everyone’s going through tough times. But if you can help, even a little, you’ll be doing more than saving my life. You’ll be giving my family their mom back. Thank you for reading this. Really.

**Help Save a Life: Support My Journey to a Heart Transplant**
Dear Friends, Family, and Kind-hearted Strangers,
I am reaching out with a heavy heart to share my story and seek your support during this challenging time in my life. I am in urgent need of a heart transplant, and I am facing significant financial burdens that are making this journey even more difficult.
Due to my medical condition, I have been unable to work and am now facing mounting expenses. With my children turning eighteen, I have lost their SSI payments and am struggling to cover basic living costs. I have lost almost $2,000 a month, which has made it increasingly difficult to keep up with my bills.
The costs associated with my heart transplant are overwhelming. Not only do I need to cover the transplant itself, but I also require ongoing medications to manage my condition post-surgery. In addition, I have to travel frequently from Baltimore, Maryland, to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and Washington, D.C., for critical medical appointments and evaluations. This travel adds extra expenses, including transportation costs, car payments, and car insurance, all of which are becoming impossible to manage.
**Here’s how your support can make a difference:**
- **Heart Transplant & Medications:** Every dollar raised will go towards the medical costs associated with my heart transplant and the necessary medications to keep me healthy afterwards.
- **Transportation Expenses:** Your contributions will help cover my travel costs to and from medical appointments, ensuring I can receive the care I desperately need.
- **Living Expenses:** Funds raised will help me stay afloat while I navigate this challenging period, allowing me to focus on my health rather than financial stress.
I know that times are tough for many, but I am asking for any support you can provide—no amount is too small. If you are unable to contribute financially, sharing this fundraiser with your network would mean the world to me.
Thank you for taking the time to read my story. I am incredibly grateful for your support, love, and encouragement as I fight for my life. Together, we can make a difference and help me get the care I need.
With heartfelt gratitude,
Tia Covington

Back on June 24th of 2022 my Defibrillator fired off on me 5 times. Once at the hospital I was told by one of the doctors that If it wasn't for me having this pump I would be dead, Because My heart went into Ventricular fibrillation Which is defined by:
A life-threatening heart rhythm that results in a rapid, inadequate heartbeat.
Ventricular fibrillation (VF) is a rapid, life-threatening heart rhythm starting in the bottom chambers of the heart. It can be triggered by a heart attack.
So as of noon today I am actively listed on the heart transplant registry!!!!
Back in June I found out that I have many siblings on my father's side and have started meeting them. And I can't wait to be able to do more with them.
Hey fam I just got some wonderful info that I wanted to share with all of you all.
I was just informed that I have been approved to be put on the heart transplant list!!!!!
However I won't be listed until this covad virus has died down.
I need your prayers now more than ever. Prayers that this virus will be done and over soon.
