Family and friends of Natasha MacArthur are raising money and partnering with the nonprofit Help Hope Live to fund her new Service Dog. Natasha has chosen to fundraise with Help Hope Live because donations are tax deductible for contributors and will only be used to cover service dog training and related expenses.

Natasha MacArthur is preparing to welcome a new companion into her life—a Golden Retriever puppy named Goldie Hawn. Goldie is being specially trained as a medical alert service dog to help Natasha manage her epilepsy. With Goldie by her side, Natasha will have support in recognizing and responding to potential seizures, which can make a world of difference in her daily life.

Goldie is currently 4 months old and training with K9 Service Companions in Albuquerque, NM for approximatlely one year. The anticipation and hope that Goldie brings are already making a positive impact for Natasha and her family. Goldie’s training will focus on calming Natasha’s central nervous system and alerting her prior to an episode, giving Natasha greater confidence and independence both at home and in public.

Raising and training a medical alert service dog involves significant costs, from specialized training to ongoing care and travel.
