EAGLE, Colo.—This Friday, November 10, dine for a good cause at Primavera Mexican Food in Eagle to raise funds and hope. 45-year-old Veronica Venzor Mendoza of Gypsum is fundraising with the national nonprofit Help Hope Live for a life-changing kidney transplant.

When: Friday, November 10 from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Where: Primavera Mexican Food (348 Grand Avenue, Eagle, CO 81631)
What: 15% of all food purchases will benefit the nonprofit Help Hope Live in honor of Veronica Mendoza, assisting with Veronica’s fundraising efforts for a life-changing kidney transplant.
Why: Veronica has been fighting kidney failure for 13 years, surviving a cancer diagnosis and years of hardship to get to where she is today. She has finally qualified to join the kidney transplant waiting list. However, out-of-pocket costs are extensive, including travel to her transplant center in Denver, medications, and at least one month of lodging post-transplant.

Veronica’s Story
45-year-old Veronica Mendoza has been living with kidney failure for the past 13 years. In 2015, she finally had an opportunity to join the waiting list for a life-saving kidney transplant—however, just two years later, she was diagnosed with cancer, putting her transplant plans on hold.
In 2017, she began intensive cancer treatments while receiving dialysis to keep her kidneys functioning. Finally, in 2023, Veronica was declared cancer-free. She now has an opportunity to re-join the waiting list for a kidney transplant.
The associated financial burden is a significant barrier to transplant. Veronica will need to cover multiple critical costs out-of-pocket.
These costs include regular medical travel to her transplant center in Denver, medications and co-pays, and at least one month of local lodging in Denver post-transplant so her medical team can monitor her recovery.

“Donations will help ease the financial burden of the transplant and help me focus on my recovery,” she explained. “My dream is to be able to travel, get back to work, and have a better overall quality of life.”
