The next step for Diane is getting on with living a more normal life in her home. Diane’s lung transplant was a lifesaving miracle yet Diane’s out-of-pocket expenses are quickly adding up. She will require around-the-clock care for many weeks. Co-pays and deductibles, follow-up visits, rehabilitation fees, and insurance premiums are expected to cost hundreds of dollars. Diane will also be required to take costly, post-transplant anti-rejection medications that she will need for the rest of her life.
To help with this financial burden, a fundraising campaign in Diane’s honor has been established with HelpHOPELive, a trusted nonprofit organization that has been providing community-based fundraising guidance to patients and their families for more than 30 years. All donations are tax-deductible, are held by HelpHOPELive in the North-Central Lung Transplant Fund, and are administered by HelpHOPELive for transplant-related expenses only. Diane has chosen to fundraise with HelpHOPELive in part because HelpHOPELive assures fiscal accountability of funds raised and tax deductibility for donors. Donors can be sure that funds donated will be used only to pay or reimburse medically-related expenses. To make a tax-deductible donation to this fundraising campaign, click on the yellow Donate Now button. For more information, please contact HelpHOPELive at 800.642.8399.
When asking how Diane is doing, we usually hear: “What can we do to help?” The hospital encouraged Diane to fundraise with HelpHOPELive, as the financial burden is enormous for Diane. As she adjusts to her life with her new lungs, we are all praying for her speedy recovery. Thanks for your support and thoughts!
Gratefully,
Diane’s loving family

Hi I know it's been a while since there has been an update and I apologize for that. I want to thank everyone who donated on my behalf. Your generosity and kindness has been overwhelming and has definitely helped me get through this journey. When I got home in Jan. I had in home PT for approx a month. Then I started outpatient PT for about 3 months. It's been a hard process to get my muscles back but one day at a time is my motto. I have had weekly Dr.'s apts and tests. The lungs have been doing well. I've been back in the hospital twice just this month due to viruses, but things are good again. I can never thank all of you enough, for what you have done for me. Without all of you I don't think I would have made it. I will keep you updated. Much love to all of you. Thanks Di
DI IS HEADING HOME! Keep your prayers coming...she is scheduled to come home January 19th. Yeah!
GOOD NEWS UPDATE!
We are all pleased to inform our loyal supporters that on October 31st, 2015 Diane received her Gift-of-Life -- her lung transplant!
