My wife, Penny Hamilton Dotts and I are up against a challenge we cannot face alone. Penny needs the help of each of you in order to survive. She is the loving mother of our children Shaelyn (7), Sarah (12) and Gabriel (15), daughter, sister and good friend to many.
Penny suffers from Idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF). She has difficult time breathing even though she is on oxygen full time. She is unable to do most of the simplest things we all take for granted. Penny has been in and out of the hospital numerous times and her doctors at The University of Pittsburgh Medical Center have told us that her only option is a life-saving double lung transplant.
Transplantation is life-saving, but very expensive. Financing this procedure is a monumental task, a challenge we cannot meet without your support. There are many pre- and post-transplant related expenses that are not covered by insurance. Some of these are co-pays, deductibles, travel back and forth to the transplant center and Penny will need to relocate with a caregiver at the time of transplant for at least 3 months. This puts us up against a challenge we cannot meet alone and desperately need your help.
