Thank you for your support!
Thank you to those that donated funds and prayers to help me with a successful. Liver transplant. We hope God shines His light on you.
It has been 5 months since my liver transplant and aside from my boatload of pills and various injections, I'm doing great. I'm still in dire straits however. I'm still in a wheelchair waiting for donations for a double knee replacement.
On march 18 my wife Beth Snodgrass got the call from our Transplant Team at Vanderbilt that I was on the list and 9 days later which would have been last night at 11:30pm I got the call that could change my life for ever, Vanderbilt has a liver for us, now we are waiting. It is so hard to ask for help and we appreciate everything our family, friends and those who don' t know us has done for myself and my wife. GOD bless each and every one of you.
Tomorrow is my second to last surgery. I'm going in for major oral and reconstructive surgery which will render me completely toothless. It is a necessary procedure to be eligible for liver transplant. Once this is completed, I'll be placed at the top of the list for a liver primarily because of a rare blood type and body size. I'm not overweight rather I'm 40 pounds underweight. It's my body size that makes a match possible. I am currently 6 feet 5 inches tall with a large bone structure. Wish me well.
Having technical difficulties with photos
I just found out some wonderful news regarding my liver transplant only to have it ripped from my grasp. My insurance company will not cover even a part of the intensive oral surgery I need. I beg of anyone the help needed to cover at least a portion of the costs otherwise I will have lost the future that I've worked so much time to receive. How much lack of compassion is needed to tell someone that they are worth more dead than alive? I'll find out in 2 weeks my fate.God bless you all.
This photo was taken just before I was diagnosed with end stage liver disease. Next to me is my Mother in Law who suggested I research HelpHopeLive as a fundraising organization. She had a close friend who's illness required outside help. In future photos to come, I will post a most recent photo soon. As for now I'm a mere shell of the man I use to be. I'm struggling to maintain my current weight of 180 pounds where a short time ago I was a strong 6 foot 5 inches and 260 pounds. I hope and pray everyday that kindness and compassion will help me achieve the goals needed for a successful transplant. I still have too much work to do and too much time yet to spend with my wife and family. After all, my family is my life.
