Things progressed quickly. Patricia has had surgeries to prepare her for Peritoneal Dialysis (PD) and has been doing PD at home with the help of her son Rocky. Even though things have gone quick, it hasn’t always seemed that way. Patricia is very family oriented and loves to spend time with her grandkids and love spending time outside in the sun. Since starting dialysis, she’s had to take time to travel to doctors in other another state or across the state, taking precious time away from the things she loves. Our hopes are, with your help, to get her a new kidney via transplant and move forward to a happy and healthy future.
Even with insurance, the cost of transplant surgery can be over whelming. Patricia will need to relocate to Salt Lake City for about two months to be closer to the University of Utah and she will have frequent trips to Salt Lake for post-transplant evaluations. Along with regular lab work and medications, she will also have life-long expenses for the very costly post-transplant medications.
To help with the financial burden of Patricia’s uninsured expenses, a fundraising campaign in her honor has been established with HelpHOPELive, a trusted nonprofit organization that has been providing community-based fundraising guidance to patients and their families for more than 30 years. All donations are tax-deductible, are held by HelpHOPELive in the Southwest Kidney Transplant Fund, and are administered by HelpHOPELive for transplant-related expenses only. Please consider making a contribution by clicking donate now.
Thank you for your positive thoughts, prayers, support and generosity. Every little bit counts and we appreciate every last cent!

So been awhile but a bit of an update .. We only have one test with our donor and one dr appt with Patricia and we should be able to schedule surgery!! That's right!! It's right around the corner!! We are still a long way away from our goal, so any and all help would be appreciated. Remember any and all donations here are tax deductible AND this is only used for Patricia's kidney transplant. We thank you all in advance for any help and support!
I am officially on the transplant list awaiting a kidney. Any kind of help and support is much appreciated. We have to travel over 200 miles to the hospital that plans to do the transplant. Any and all donations will be used only for the transplant process. We will keep everyone updated as we continue our adventure to a new beginning. Thank you all in advance!
I worked with Rocky at the Marriott. My first day back at work after losing my Mom to pancreatic cancer was rough. When Rocky saw me, he didn't say a word, just gave me "the world's greatest hug". I will never forget what that meant to me. I am praying for you and your family and hope the donation helps a little.
