Jeffery Parris is a 52-year-old single father of two teenage girls, Kaitlynn and Krista. In 2011 he was diagnosed with Langerhans cell mitosis, which has greatly impaired his lung function. Now, he needs a lung transplant in order to survive.
Jeffery spent his younger days in Idaho and moved to Tooele in the 80s where he worked and raised his daughters. Jeffery has a passion for Harley Davidson motorcycles and hopes to soon ride again. He also enjoys restoring vintage cars and attending car shows. He is looking forward to life post-transplant so he can continue to watch his daughters grow up.
Transplants are life-saving, but also very expensive. Even with insurance, Jeffery faces many out-of-pocket costs, including travel and from the transplant center, co-pays, lab fees, and the costly anti-rejection medications he will have to take for the rest of his life. All of this presents a challenge he cannot meet without your help.
To help with the financial burden of Jeffery’s uninsured expenses, he may apply to receive assistance from the HelpHOPELive Southwest Lung Regional Restricted Fund. To make a tax-deductible donation, click Donate Now.
Please help us to raise money to save the life of a man who is a hero to many. Thank you for your support and generosity.
With much love,
Jeannett Tayrien, Jeffery’s friend
