Some of you know my dear friend Peggy Westmiller Maurer. Over three years ago, Peggy was diagnosed with COPD and Alpha 1 Antitrypsin Deficiency, which is a genetic disorder she inherited. Her health has since declined and her doctors at the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, FL have told her that she is in need of a life-saving double lung transplant.

Peggy is wonderful mother to three daughters, grandmother of nine, sister, aunt and good friend to many. She grew up in Rush, NY and graduated from Sperry High School. In 2011 Peggy moved to Florida to be closer to her sister Martha. She had started to build a full life for herself, but due to her poor health she is no longer able to work or do many everyday things we all take for granted. She is on oxygen full time and has been hospitalized many times. When she is transplanted her daughters will come from New York to help care for her during her recovery.
