Amy is one of the kindest people you will ever meet and the time has come for her to get back some of that kindness she continues to give so freely to the community. Transplants are lifesaving, but extremely costly and Amy needs the help of her community to make a lifesaving transplant happen.
Amy was diagnosed with RSD in 2006 and due to the extreme pain associated with this syndrome, she was put on aggressive medications that exacerbated the stress on her kidneys. Because Amy’s kidneys are failing, she can no longer participate in activities she once took pride in and loved to do. Amy has always had a passion for teaching, whether it be in the Special Education classroom for 20 years, or the outside world, or even helping her daughter and the community learn new information.
Amy used to take walks with her treasured canine companions, spend the days outside working in her garden, and long walks on the beach. Things like this are no longer possible or even enjoyable for Amy because she is too sick. Amy wants her life back, and without a new kidney, more things will become impossible for her and she will likely grow sicker each day. As this letter is being written, Amy also continues to search for a suitable living donor. If interested in donating the most precious and selfless gift-of-life to Amy, please contact Amy’s daughter, Arianna @ oreobrownie17@gmail.com
Funding a kidney transplant is a monumental task and many medical expenses are not covered by Amy’s health insurance. Copays and deductibles, post-transplant anti-rejection medications, surgery fees, medical bills, travel and lodging costs, lifestyle accommodations and postoperative treatment are expected to cost upwards of $50,000 in out-of-pocket fees. This is much more than Amy and her family can handle alone, and more than ever they need your financial support.
To help with the financial burden of Amy’s uninsured expenses, a fundraising campaign in her honor has been established with Help Hope Live, a trusted nonprofit organization that has been providing community based fundraising guidance to patients and their families for more than 30 years. All donations are tax deductible to the full extent allowed by law, are held by Help Hope Live in the Northeast Kidney Transplant Fund, and are administered by Help Hope Live for transplant related expenses only. To make a donation to this fundraising campaign, please click on the yellow DONATE NOW button. For more information, please contact Help Hope Live at 800.642.8399.
Your support is critical to the overall success of Amy’s wellbeing, and if we all work together, we can make Amy’s prospects for a bright future even brighter. Your contribution makes a difference.
Gratefully,
Arianna Northrop, Amy’s daughter, (207) 494-0159, mumzieneedsakidney@yahoo.com
