Dear Family and Friends,
As some of you may know, my dear friend of over 30 years, Jan (Kirkpatrick) Dunbar, has been battling a life-threatening disease. Several years ago, she was diagnosed with end stage renal disease and for four years, she has been undergoing dialysis every day. Currently, Jan is being evaluated for a possible kidney transplant at the Medical University of South Carolina. At this point, Jan’s only chance for a long and healthy life is a kidney transplant.
Jan is a beautiful and strong woman. She is raising three lovely children as a single parent and now has one adorable granddaughter. Before she became ill, she worked for 20 years as a customer service representative. She has always loved to go bowling with family and friends. With your support and assistance, Jan can return to doing the things she loves and living life to the fullest.
Transplantation is life-saving, but also very expensive. Even with insurance, Jan will have many out-of-pocket transplant-related expenses, such as: co-pays and deductibles, doctor visits, travel and relocation to the transplant center, and the costly immunosuppressant medications she will have to take for the rest of her life.
To help offset her uninsured expenses, a fundraising campaign in Jan’s honor has been established with HelpHOPELive. HelpHOPELive is a nonprofit organization that has been assisting the transplant community for over 28 years. All contributions are tax deductible and are administered by HelpHOPELive for transplant-related expenses only. If you wish to make a donation:

Hello Everyone! It's been 3yrs and 2mos since I've received my Kidney Transplant. I feel so blessed that, the Lord gave me another opportunity for a do over. I feel better than I have in many years. It took alot of getting use to not being on that machine every night and, not having to go to bed by 9pm. I want to thank everyone that made donations to my campaign. You'll have truly been a blessing and my family and I will never forget it.
