As some of you may know, in 2012 Jaime Lopez was walking across the street when he was struck by a sports utility vehicle — the driver was texting and driving. This accident has left him paralyzed with both a spinal cord injury and a traumatic brain injury. As you can imagine, Jaime’s recovery will be lifelong. At this point he has no use of his legs and limited use of his arms. He does have feeling all over and there is lots of hope.
Jaime is a friend with a real drive for life. His good positive attitude has always been evident and he has worked hard since age 12. He is an Army Veteran and a retired truck driver. Jaime has been in and out of hospitals and nursing homes for treatment. He is now home and is very much working towards having a life of independence and freedom – his focus is on his long-term survival rather than a life lived as a victim. He needs your help to fulfill this mission.
Even with insurance, Jaime will have many uninsured injury-related expenses. Although he has received therapy through the various medical facilities while in-patient and now at his home, he will have to think outside conventional therapies. Jaime is currently applying to a specialized rehab programs that is not covered by his insurance.
To help offset this advanced therapy program along other uninsured expenses, a fundraising campaign in Jaime’s honor has been established with Help Hope Live, a trusted nonprofit organization that has been providing community-based fundraising guidance to patients and their families for more than 30 years. All donations are tax-deductible to the full extent allowed by law, are held by Help Hope Live in the South-Central Spinal Cord Injury Fund, and are administered by Help Hope Live for injury-related expenses. If you would like to make a donation today, please click the DONATE NOW button.
Thank-you in advance for your support. Together, we can make a difference in Jaime’s life.
Thank You,
Sherrie Rowe
We are currently working towards a 40k goal. This will allow Jaime to receive Therapy 2 hours a visit, 5 times a week. Starting in February our goal is to achieve, having the funds to implement the year long therapy. Please help Jaime in his efforts to have independence.
GO JAIME!
Thank You,
Sherrie Rowe
