Dave’s life was thrown into an upheaval in 2012 when he suffered esophageal varices which lead to his diagnosis of steatohepatitis, non-alcoholic liver disease, NASH and hepatic encephalopathy. Having already overcome a major health challenge of cancer in 1985, Dave was fighting again! In 2016 Dave was placed on the liver transplant list at the University of Michigan. Dave received his new liver on January 24, 2017. Thanks to the surgeons, Dave is on his way back to health, but he still needs our help because the medical bills are mounting.
You may know Dave from Christ The King Church where he and his wife Colette and children, Ashley, David and Stephen attended for many years, or from The Most Blessed Sacrament Church where they now attend. Or, perhaps you may know Dave from Textile Leather Corp. where he worked for 37 years.
After many years of helping others, Dave is now the one who needs our help. Transplantation and follow-up medications and treatment are very expensive. Even with insurance coverage there are co-pays and deductibles, medications and clinic visits- costs could top $20,000!
To help with the financial burden of Dave’s uninsured expenses, a fundraising campaign in his honor has been established with Help Hope Live, a trusted nonprofit organization that has been providing community-based fundraising guidance to patients and their families for more than 30 years. All donations are tax deductible to the full extent allowed by law and held by Help Hope Live in the Great Lakes Liver Transplant Fund, and are administered by Help Hope Live for transplant-related expenses only. Please consider a contribution. To make a tax-deductible donation to this fundraising campaign, click on the GIVE button. And please consider sharing this link with others so they may donate as well.
Thank you for your prayers, support and generosity.

Dave and I are so thankful for the many blessings that God has bestowed upon us! Dave received a new lease on life on January 24, 2017 when he got his new liver! He is now 7 months post-op and is doing very well despite the ups and downs and many adjustments with medications. It is so true that time heals! We are grateful to start living a normal life again! We are also thankful for this fundraising campaign as the cost of medication and medical bills are on going. We appreciate any and all donations! God Bless each and every one of you! Love, Dave & Colette
Continuing to keep you all in my prayers.

It's not hard to say what I have to say,it's just to try to keep from rambling. I've seen and been with you when you've gone through so much, the good and the bad. But the way you bounce back with your strength and attitude is something to see and admire. Your sense of humor, although not as weird as mine, [some people say],I'm sure pulls you through a lot of tough days. I hear nothing but good things from and about people that have had this transplant, and praying that yours comes shortly.Let me finish by saying this, and only a few people will understand what this means, and you are one of them, and that's what counts. "I have a real good feeling that it won't be too long and we'll be playing catch with the football after supper.

But there be no scars of any kind physically worry about Shelley I stand on your John 15:7where Jesus says and I quote, " if you remain in Me and My Words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you". Jesus is speaking of being the true vine and we Christians are the branches. Mark16:17-18 and these signs will accompany those who believe: " in My name they will drive out demons; they will speak in the tongues; they will pick up snakes with their hands; and when they drink deadly poison, it will not hurt them at all; they will place their hands on sick people, and they will get well." Mark11:24. " therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours." prayers going up. Keeping you all in prayer

Dad, you're such an amazing person, husband, father, and friend. You're so supportive, funny, chill and cool.. Seriously the best dad anyone could ask for. I know times have been rough lately, but we all continue to pray and have faith that you'll get this liver transplant and have a full recovery soon! You'll be jamming out to the Beegees and cooking slightly burnt barbecue chicken (the way you and mom like) on the grill in no time! Love you Dad.
