Senior year of college Randy suffered a catastrophic spinal cord injury during gymnastics practice that left him quadriplegic: paralyzed from the shoulders down, unable to walk or move his hands. Despite this, he graduated from college, began advocating for people with disabilities, and started a family. [click “See all” to read more]
Now, after months of adaptive driving lessons, he passed his driver’s license test and needs your help raising funds to purchase a wheelchair accessible van with electronic hand controls. Vehicle modifications are not covered by insurance, and the cost is estimated to be over $100,000…
A fundraising campaign in his honor has been established with Help Hope Live, a trusted nonprofit organization that has been providing community-based fundraising guidance to patients and their families for more than 30 years. Help Hope Live assures fiscal accountability of funds raised and tax deductibility to the full extent allowed by law for donors. Donors can be sure that funds donated will be used only to pay or reimburse medically-related expenses. To make a tax-deductible donation to this fundraising campaign, click the Give button.
We appreciate your support and thank you for helping Randy regain his independence and freedom.
Additional information about this campaign:
What happens if the fundraising goal is not met?
Funds donated to Randy’s campaign can be used for a variety of medically related needs, including paying for medical bills, nursing care, adaptive equipment etc. Although the primary goal of this fundraiser is to raise enough funds to purchase a wheelchair van, if the fundraising goal is not met the funds will not go to waste. They will either be applied to the purchase of the wheelchair van or go to another medically related expense.
How is this tax-deductible?
Help Hope Live is a 501(c)(3) and receives the donations and pays for the medically related expenses directly, to ensure donations are used only for appropriate needs. This allows for tax deductibility of donations.
