Likely, Connie has, in one way or another, presented herself into your life, and has undoubtedly left a lasting impression. Connie is devoted to her family and friends, and has spent her life serving them in every way imaginable. She is now home from the hospital, but her fight continues. Currently, one of her lungs has suffered 40% damage and the other has 60% damage – she is reliant on oxygen and is currently home bound. Whereas most people with this condition take years to get to this critical point, Connie’s decline has happened unfortunately far more rapidly. Her disease continues to try and define her — Connie absolutely refuses to allow this to happen.
Life doesn’t pause, slow down or rewind when things get hard. Over these past months, alongside Connie’s own medical battles, she and her family have still had to navigate life itself. Facing these overwhelming struggles are the reason that Connie, Jim, Ashley, Brittney, Hannah and the rest of the family are turning to our community for help. Even with insurance Connie will have many out of pocket transplant-related expenses such as: co-pays and deductibles, continued doctor visits, travel to and from the hospital center and the costly immunosuppressant medications that she will need to take for the rest of her life.
To help offset such expenses, a fundraising campaign in Connie’s honor has been established with Help Hope Live, a trusted nonprofit organization that has been providing community-based fundraising guidance to patients and their families for more than 30 years. All donations are tax-deductible to the full extent allowed by law, are held by Help Hope Live in the North-Central Lung Transplant Fund, and are administered by Help Hope Live for transplant-related expenses only. If you would like to make a contribution please click the DONATE NOW button.
Your support is critical to the overall success of Connie’s struggle. Please know that your contribution counts. On behalf of Connie and her family, we thank you in advance for your kind consideration.
Gratefully,
Brittney Bush – 630.723.9832 or bush.brittney14@gmail.com
