Matt Needs Your Help!
A decade ago, Matthew Sweeney, known as “Matt”, fell through an unprotected opening in an attic. His fall resulted in a traumatic brain injury and related medical complications. Since his accident, Matt is unable to continue working in his profession. More recently, this past August he suffered extensive and life altering injuries in a horrific car accident. As a result, Matt was critically injured and his body was broken; he suffered internal injuries, serious lung and spleen damage, broken bones, 14 broken ribs and a T-10 spinal cord injury. The most serious effect of Matt’s accident is that he is permanently paralyzed from the waist down. After spending over a month in ICU, then an additional month at an inpatient rehabilitation hospital, Matthew is now receiving care at the VA Center in West Roxbury, Massachusetts.

I have heard a bit about you from John Byler, a LinkedIn connection I now consider a friend, and apparently that's something we have in common, I can't imagine what you've been through, I have been disabled since 1988 but psychiatric based, I had spent a total of several years in hospital, but on June 5th at almost 57 I had my very first surgery and spent my first night on a medical ward, your an inspiration to others. It wasn't much but I hope it helps, even if just emotionally, your new Irish friend from Toronto
