My Dad retired just a year and a half ago and was looking forward to spending lots of time with his four kids and eight grandkids, swimming and traveling with my mom, singing in choir, continuing his elder role at church, and doing so much more. His only chance to return to good health is a liver transplant.
Transplants are life-saving but financially draining. In addition to the cost of the transplant itself and surrounding lab work, expensive post-transplant medications will be needed for life.
To help offset such expenses, a fundraising campaign in Dad’s honor has been established with Help Hope Live, a trusted nonprofit organization that has been providing community-based fundraising guidance to patients and their families for more than 30 years. All donations are tax-deductible to the full extent allowed by law, are held by Help Hope Live in the North-Central Liver Transplant Fund, and are administered by Help Hope Live for transplant-related expenses only. If you would like to make a contribution, please click the DONATE NOW bar.
Thank you for your prayers, support, and generosity. You can keep an eye on Dad’s progress on this campaign page.
Gratefully,
Emily Baxter, Don’s daughter

Dad is making progress with his new liver! He is now free of cancer AND staples AND drains. He has been able to get in the pool and take short walks! His "leash" from the hospital is getting a little longer as he is required to go to clinic less frequently. He is having lots of back pain; more physical therapy will hopefully help ease that. God has more in store for him! Thank you so much for your prayers and support! We are so grateful.
Dad got his new liver yesterday and is doing quite well!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We are so thankful!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Praise God!!!!!!!!!!!
Now he will need anti-rejection meds that cost thousands of dollars per month. We are raising funds to assist with that. Can you help?
Dad has been chosen for liver transplant!!!!!!!!!!! We thank God for this and ask God to guide the surgery!!!!!!!!!!! The surgery is supposed to begin in the morning, 8:00 being the estimate. Ahhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Dad is a backup for a liver transplant tomorrow! Please pray for the donor who is currently dying, for the Plan A patient, for the doctors, and for Dad! Thank you!
Dad has been having some complications with his drains, and was unable to have chemo last week. We are hoping for a call for a new liver in early 2017.
I have been following this and I am so glad to hear that God provided and Don is doing well. Praising God! What a great way to ring in the new year!

We keep praying. Every time I hear the Flight for Life fly overhead, I say an extra prayer - maybe this is the one...
