Frank Robbins is very ill and needs a lifesaving liver transplant very soon. His condition has worsened quickly. Thankfully, Frank has been placed on the list for a liver transplant; now he has to prepare for the financial aspects of transplant. As anyone who knows Frank can attest, he is one of the kindest people you’d ever hope to meet and has always helped other people. He now needs our help. Due to illness, Frank has been out of work and the cost of transplant is quickly becoming overwhelming.
Frank grew up in East Falls, graduated from Roman Catholic High School in 1975 and has held many jobs throughout his working career. He spent almost 15 years as a loyal employee at Chestnut Hill Hospital before the hospital sale resulted in downsizing and Frank being laid off. You may know Frank from his days playing sports at McDevitts Playground in East Falls, or from his days on several teams as a goaltender at Venice Island Hockey Rink where he was elected to the VI Hockey Hall of Fame. You might also remember Frank from his many years as a volunteer coach at the IHM Soccer Club in Roxborough. In all of these endeavors, Frank was always there to help others and now we need to step up and help Frank. We are committed to seeing Frank through this transplant and your assistance is needed.

Frank has moved back into his apartment after staying with Joe and Pix Zakrzewski for the first 5 weeks of his recovery. Many thanks to Joe & Pix for providing Frank with a great place to recover and get fantastic care. Frank’s recovery is ahead of schedule but he still needs our help and support as transplant recovery is a life long process. We are close to our goal of $10,000 and are expecting some big contributions to clear soon which will put us very close to this goal. We are dedicating the annual Goon Open Golf Outing to raise funds for Frank’s fund. This golf outing will occur in mid to late October. Please talk up the golf outing with your family and friends and expect to see more details shortly.
