Maria is a 60-year-old woman who has spent several years of her life being sick. Her disease attacked both of her kidneys with continuous infections and just three months ago both of her kidneys were removed. She depends on dialysis three times a week to keep her alive. Maria hopes to improve her quality of life with a kidney transplant

Maria is a mother of three and recently a grandmother. She became a preschool teacher in her community all while raising her family. Life taught her to live in the present moments. She loves to travel and experience life at its fullest. She loves to listen and she would gladly give you the best advice. In other words, she is one of the most beautiful presence that you could ask for. She loves to share all she is/has with everybody; wisdom, protection and good energy. She shines!

Thankfully, Maria has a kidney donor so our family is now preparing for the financial aspects of transplant as the expenses will be more than we can handle. Even with insurance, there are many transplant related expenses including copays for doctors and hospitals, caregiver expenses for the donor and patient and the costly medications that Maria will have to take for the rest of her life. Only a transplant will save her life and will help Maria integrate back into her daily activities and work. Thankfully, her friends and family give her constant support and hope for her wellbeing.
