Bren Lawrence is a 59-year old woman who was diagnosed with emphysema and COPD almost five years ago. Over the past few years, her condition has worsened to the point where she now needs a lifesaving lung transplant. Bren is dependent on full-time oxygen in order to breathe, and without a transplant her condition will continue to deteriorate and her time will quickly run out.
Bren is married to her husband Michael who works hard at his job and is committed to supporting her through her upcoming lung transplant. Bren is one of the kindest people you will ever meet and she is always willing to go out of her way to help others in need. She grew up in Statesville, NC and graduated for Iredell County High School. Bren is the youngest of thirteen children and she has two children of her own. Her large and loving family are committed to seeing her through her upcoming transplant, but Bren needs your financial support to help with her out-of-pocket medical expenses.
While she undergoes medical testing to receive her transplant at the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Florida, co-pays and deductibles, medical bills, insurance premiums, lab fees, and caregiver expenses are adding up. Even with insurance, Bren is facing very high medical bills and will be required to take costly post-transplant medications to halt rejection that are needed for the rest of her life.
To help with this financial burden, a fundraising campaign in Bren’s honor has been established with Help Hope Live, a trusted nonprofit organization that has been providing community-based fundraising guidance to patients and their families for more than 30 years. All donations are tax-deductible to the full extent allowed by law, are held by Help Hope Live in the Southeast Lung Transplant Fund, and are administered by Help Hope Live for transplant-related expenses only. Thank you ahead of time for your thoughts, prayers and generous contribution. Any donation amount, no matter how big or how small, is one step closer to a brighter future for Bren.
Gratefully,
Bren’s loving family, friends and Community
