Dear Friends and Family,
As many of you already know, our dad, Nathan Eldridge, is battling an incurable disease called polycystic kidney disease (PKD). Dad’s PKD has given him many medical problems for a long time like high blood pressure, an aneurysm, and glaucoma. He takes medications to control his high blood pressure, and has had surgeries to treat the aneurysm, and glaucoma.
Dad has always been a hard worker, and a great love to his wife, kids, and grandchildren. He’s a man who would give anything to help someone in need. Dad is always seen with a smile on his face even though he is worried about his medical condition. Despite this, he’ll try his best to bring a smile to your face, too. Dad comes from a large family of 16 children total. Two of his brothers have had kidney transplants due to PKD and sadly Dad has lost two sisters and two brothers to this disease.
Dad’s doctors from North Carolina Baptist Hospital along with family are hoping that he can avoid dialysis which is terribly time-consuming and very hard on one’s body. Therefore, he is seeking a lifesaving kidney transplant. Despite having insurance, many of his medical needs are not covered and must be paid out-of-pocket. Our first goal is to raise the $5900 required before he can go to transplant. We also anticipate substantial uninsured costs such as relocation during transplant and lifelong immunosuppressant medications.
To help offset Dad’s uninsured costs, a fundraising campaign has been established through HelpHOPELive. HelpHOPELive is a nonprofit organization that has been assisting the transplant community for more than 28 years. All contributions are administered by HelpHOPELive exclusively for uninsured transplant-related expenses. Donations are tax-deductible to the full extent allowed by law. You can help save our Dad. Please consider a contribution.Together we can make a difference! Please help our dad, Nathan, to get his second chance at life. Thank you for your kindness and generosity
