After five years of going from doctor to doctor in search of an answer to why she wasn’t feeling well, my wife, Misty Mendez was finally diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. This wasn’t the answer we hoped for, but we were relieved to finally have a diagnosis. There is no cure for MS and current treatments only mitigate the symptoms at best. After considerable research Misty found StemGenex, a facility that has had success in halting the symptoms of MS through stem cell transplant.

Misty is only 34 years old and is a loving wife, mother to our three children (ages 15, 12, and 6), sister, daughter, aunt and good friend to many. She grew up in De Leon, Texas and is working when she feels well enough. However, the last few months her health has been declining, she is feeling more disabled, has been in and out of the hospital. Unfortunately, the medication she is on is not as effective as it once was. After she receives the transplant, Misty is looking forward to be more involved again in the children’s lives, spending time with family and friends, and being more active in the community.
