Help Save Healani’s Life!
Aloha,
My name is Healani Keuma and I am 58 years young. In 2010 I was diagnosed with Renal Kidney failure and am in need of a lifesaving kidney transplant. Since being diagnosed, I have undergone lengthy and time consuming dialysis treatments three days a week for 3 1/2 hours each session. These treatments are only temporary and the ultimate lifelong solution would be through a matched kidney.
Born and raised on the west side of Kauai, Hawaii I grew up with hard working and loving parents along with 5 brothers, myself being the only girl. I am a loving mother of 2 girls and 1 boy and earned the title Mama (grandma) in 2016. Life since then has been nothing short of amazing. Throughout this kidney journey over the past 15 years, there has been a lot of good and bad days but my Mo’opuna(Grandchild) serves as my reminder to never give up and keep fighting this fight.
After 20+ wonderful years of serving as Health nurse for Koloa Elementary school I have made the ultimate decision to retire in 2024. Focusing on my health and having more time to spend with my Mo’opuna is exactly what I have been doing since and enjoy every day of it. My next main goal in life is raising funds for my kidney transplant and finding a match for a new kidney transplant. And of course being healthy and happy.
Additionally, the cost to fund this procedure is monumental and overwhelming. I will be facing large co-pays and deductibles, living expenses, testing fees, and will eventually be required to travel to Oahu / Queens Hospital or to UCSF Hospital in California to receive her transplant. The costs for travel and lodging are very expensive, and would not afford transplant without your support. I will also be required to take costly post-transplant medications to stop rejection, which are needed for the rest of my life post procedure.
To help with this financial burden, this campaign has been established with Help Hope Live, a trusted nonprofit organization that has been providing community-based fundraising guidance to patients and their families for more than 35 years. All donations are tax-deductible to the full extent allowed by law, are held by Help Hope Live in the Southwest Transplant Fund, and are administered by Help Hope Live for transplant-related expenses only.
Thank you in advance for your Thoughts, Prayers and Generous contribution. Any donation amount is one step closer to a brighter future and better life for myself along with my loving family.
Gratefully,
Healani Keuma & Loving Family.
