And Steven would love your assistance in helping him “get around” safely, securely, and efficiently in all his mobility needs for medical, daycare, and recreational.
Steven suffers from a birth defect known as Angelman’s Syndrome which causes profound mental retardation and causes him to rely on his family for all his needs. At 36 years old he is unable to walk and is wheelchair bound for all transportation to doctors, daycare and facility visits. He is now in need of transportation that can safely get him to his many destinations. The uninsured cost of this type of vehicle is in the area of 40-50 thousand dollars.
Because of the weight of his heavy duty wheelchair (125 lbs) and his own weigh of 160 lbs, Steven is at the point where one person can no longer transport him safely in his family’s car. He is in need of a wheelchair roll on van, which would allow him to be transported by one caregiver.
Family and friends of Steven Whitlow are raising money to pay for uninsured medical expenses associated with Catastrophic Illness.
Steven’s family has chosen to fundraise with Help Hope Live in part because Help Hope Live assures fiscal accountability of funds raised and tax deductibility for donors. Donors can sure that funds donated will be used only to pay or reimburse medically-related expenses. To make a tax-deductible donation to this fundraising campaign, click on the Donate Now button.
