Becky and her husband, Robert, must temporarily relocate from their home in Rigby, Idaho for up to 6 months to be closer to the hospital for close follow-up care once a donor is available. Although Becky does have insurance, there are many other transplant related costs that will not be covered by insurance such as, relocation costs, co-pays, medication costs, clinic visits, and other living expenses during the relocation timeframe.
To help with the financial burden of Becky’s uninsured expenses, a fundraising campaign in her honor has been established with Help Hope Live, a trusted nonprofit organization that has been providing community-based fundraising guidance to patients and their families for more than 30 years. All donations are tax deductible to the full extent allowed by law, are held by Help Hope Live in the Northwest Pancreas/Kidney Transplant Fund, and are administered by Help Hope Live for transplant-related expenses only. Please consider a contribution.
Your support is critical in the overall success of Becky’s struggle. Please know that your contribution matters not only to Becky, but the many people that love and support her.
Thank you for your prayers and generosity.
Gratefully,
Robert Eddins, Becky’s husband
I'm not very good at updating things online very good. But here is one for the last little while. I'm working on getting everything needed for my transplant. Got my second set of shots last month. Kidneys are at 23% as of two weeks ago. Had oral surgery yesterday. That was fun.
Well, we went to my appointment for my psych evaluation, and everything went well. Got started on all of my immunizations. That was fun (not really). After all of that, we headed to Glendale, Arizona.
Our drive was long and windy. I came to appreciate the wind we face in Idaho. We had talked about going to the Grand Canyon, but by the time we got there it was dark. So no Canyon this trip. We made it there just before midnight. Unpacked the car and went to bed. Friday, took a tour of the campus where Michael has spent the last two years. Graduation at noon. SO PROUD OF MY SON!!!! He has grown so much since he left home. And what a huge accomplishment! We didn't really do a lot of sightseeing. (Not really a lot to see other than highways and dirt.) But we did go to the Mesa and Phoenix Temples and spend a little time walking around. The Mesa temple had a visitors center that was pretty nice and we did spend time in there watching a couple of movies. Would highly recommend it. Saturday, Michael told us about an amusement park, but when we went over there to go, there was a food drive going on and absolutely no parking. So we didn't get to go. It was for a good cause. So instead we took Michael to the Cracker Barrel for an early dinner. He had never been there before, so that was fun. After that we headed home. Another really long drive (in the dark). Overall, the trip was good because we got to spend a little time with Michael and on such a milestone for him. Did I mention how PROUD I am of him?
I guess I survived my echo cardiogram, because I have to go back to Murray for a psych evaluation. My appointment is scheduled for this coming Thursday. We planned our trip around Mike's graduation from UTI in Arizona on Friday. At least that part of our trip will be fun.
Going in tomorrow for an Ecocardiogram and Cardiac Stress test. Just a few more things the Dr.'s need to have to move forward.
