Most of you that know me are aware that I am a type 1 diabetic. I was diagnosed at the early age of 6; now I am 27 and have many medical issues due to diabetes. A few years ago I lost my vision because of the disease, but by the grace of God I was able to regain it shortly after. Recently, I was diagnosed with end stage renal disease, meaning my kidneys are no longer functioning. As a result, I am now on dialysis which is doing the work to filter my blood of toxins that my kidneys can no longer do. It is keeping me alive. My doctors at the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, FL have told me that a kidney and pancreas transplant is my best hope at a long and healthy life.

Transplants are life-saving, but extremely expensive. Even with insurance, I will be responsible for many out-of-pocket costs, including travel, co-pays, deductibles, lab fees, and the anti-rejection medications I will have to take for the rest of my life. I cannot do this without your help.
