UPDATE: After 4 1/2 years on dialysis our prayers were finally answered and Austin received a kidney transplant on 10/21/2020! He has been recovering and getting stronger each day. We have had to travel to Pittsburgh once a week so they can check his kidney is continuing to work the way it should.
Austin is 23 years old and he was diagnosed with Stage 5 Kidney Failure on July 20, 2016. He was experiencing no symptoms and his diagnosis came completely out of nowhere. Austin has not let his illness get him down, and he is still his normal, joking self. To look at him, you would never know that he is sick, however he is tired most of the time and is in constant pain. He currently is on dialysis three days per week. He needs a kidney transplant as dialysis isn’t a permanent fix for him.
Austin has chosen to fundraise with Help Hope Live in part because Help Hope Live assures fiscal accountability of funds raised and tax deductibility to the full extent allowed by law for donors. Donors can be sure that funds donated will be used only to pay or reimburse medically-related expenses. To make a donation to this fundraising campaign, click on the Donate Now button.
