Kelly High is a 53-year-old wife, mother and grandmother who has been diagnosed with polycystic kidney disease (PKD) and has only 18% function of her kidney. After many years of treatment, her only chance of living her life free of pain and suffering now is to have a kidney transplant.
When I met Kelly 5 years ago, we established a sisterhood immediately. She is a God fearing, spirit-filled individual which is why you would never know anything was ever wrong. However, she needs our support. The cost of a transplant can be very overwhelming so we are reaching out to all who would like to help provide the financial relief she needs so desperately.
Kelly is a native of Oklahoma City and graduate of John Marshall High School. She has been employed with the city of Oklahoma City for over 15 years. Kelly enjoys singing in the choir, working in her garden, collecting and watching movies and, most of all, family dinners. She was diagnosed with this hereditary kidney disease many years ago; however, she started treatment and monitoring the progression just 5 years ago. While working full-time with the city, Kelly continues to undergo many tests and blood work and has multiple appointments. Kelly’s family and friends are dedicated to seeing her through and making her transplant a realization.
Transplantation is very expensive even with insurance. Kelly will have to pay out-of-pocket such expenses as co-pays and deductibles, anti-rejection medications she will need to take for the rest of her life, travel to and from the center and relocation at the time of transplant for a period of at least 3 months.
To help with the financial burden of Kelly’s uninsured expenses, a fundraising campaign in her honor has been established with Help Hope Live, a trusted nonprofit organization that has been providing community-based fundraising guidance to patients and their families for more than 30 years. All donations are tax-deductible to the full extent allowed by law, are held by Help Hope Live in the South-Central Kidney Transplant Fund, and are administered by Help Hope Live for transplant-related expenses only. Please consider a contribution.

Please know Kelly and her family are truly grateful for this second chance at life. Thank you in advance for your support and generosity.
With sincere appreciation,
Heidi James, Kelly’s friend and sister

It has been awhile, but I am still hanging in there. I waited as long as I could, but feeling sick and weak has ran its course, so
now I have been forced to start dialysis. Hopefully this will make me strong enough for the transplant. The donor and I are
scheduled for crossmatching march 30th to see if she is a match for me. Oh yea! my other good news is I have a new
grandson that I want to spend more time with. I am so grateful for all the support that I have received. I have faith
that we have more good people in the world than bad. I thank all my friends who have been so positive and
uplifting. No matter what lets try to find the good in every situation. God Bless.

PRAYERS ARE NEEDED. A volunteer has come forward to offer the best gift that I could imagine. The donation of one of her kidneys.
She is going for testing to see if she would be a match. Michelle God bless you, I pray that you are compatible, if not I admire you and love
you for your courage and grace.
Just a small update. My health is still pretty good
I have now been on the kidney transplant waitlist
for one year now. Each year I repeat multiple testing and Dr. visits. while I wait for the call for
a possible match from a deceased donor. Keep
praying and view some of the pictures from the
silent auction and dinner.
God Bless you.

THANK YOU! We made it.
The fundraiser was very successful. We achieved the
short term goal while enjoying great spaghetti and
even better fellowship. The update with pictures will
soon follow I am very grateful for all the love and support. Oklahoma is full of caring hearts.

Hello, I'm Kelly a 53 year old wife, mother and grandmother. I normally get pleasure out of helping other people. Now I need some help. I am in need of a kidney transplant, that means I have to prepare for up to 4 to 6 months off from work. I thank God for each and every day. My prayer is for a successful transplant before my kidney disease gets worse or before I get sick. I feel like I am here for a reason and I will not give up.
