Teodoro Cardenas, a lifelong resident of California, is in desperate need of a lifesaving kidney transplant. Teodoro needs the help of his community to make his transplant happen. Transplants are lifesaving, but very expensive and Teodoro needs your support.
About three years ago, Teodoro was diagnosed with end-stage-renal disease of kidney failure, and is left with only 20% of kidney function. He is no longer able to work, or take part in social activities with his friends and family. Teodoro misses being able to take care of his loving family. His wife Maria and three children Elsie, Victor and Jonathan are committed to seeing Teodoro through his transplant, but more than ever he wants to return to his normal life. Teodoro is now completely dependent on dialysis treatments, which he undergoes every night at home. His only chance to return to his life is a kidney transplant. Teodoro is undergoing extensive medical testing at UCLA Medical Center, and waiting patiently for the telephone call that will save his life.
Funding a kidney transplant is a monumental task, and very challenging for the Cardenas family. There will be many medical expenses not be covered by health insurance; including co-pays and deductibles, travel and lodging fees, and post-transplant anti-rejection medications that are needed for the rest of Teodoro’s life. These out-of-pocket expenses add up to more that the Cardenas family can afford alone, and they are asking for your support.
