Early on, Bambi tried to learn as much as she could about the disease and treatment options. That’s what led her into patient advocacy or what I refer to as motivational speaking. She speaks at MS patient education programs. She’s always ready to help someone through the slippery slope of MS or help anyone interested in understanding what MS is and its strange nuances.
After many years of helping others, Bambi is now the one who needs our help. Through her continual learning about MS, she discovered a new treatment that has a good chance of stopping the progression of MS and the strong possibility of reversing some of her symptoms. This procedure is Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation (HSCT). Her stem cells are harvested, cleaned and reinfused. According to her, the best part is not worrying about rejection, as she’s receiving her own stem cells back, but without the memory of MS.
HSCT is currently in the trial phases in the U.S. for MS. After not being accepted for trials in the U.S., Bambi is going to travel to Mexico to receive the treatment there. The cost of the procedure is very high and not covered by insurance. We are anticipating that we will have out of pocket expenses of $70,000 for the procedure, one month’s relocation expenses, travel and follow-up care. This is where we need your support.
To help with the financial burden of Bambi ’s uninsured expenses, a fundraising campaign in her honor has been established with Help Hope Live, a trusted nonprofit organization that has been providing community-based fundraising guidance to patients and their families for more than 30 years. All donations are tax-deductible to the full extent allowed by law, are held by Help Hope Live in the Midwest/West Stem Cell Transplant Fund, and are administered by Help Hope Live for transplant-related expenses only. Please consider a contribution. To make a donation to this fundraising campaign, click on the Donate Now button.
Your support is critical to the overall success of Bambi ‘s struggle. Please know that your contribution counts. On behalf of Bambi and our families, we thank you in advance for your kindness, generosity and consideration.

Today I purchased my airfare to take me to get my stem cell transplant in June. The joy and gratitude I feel for this upcoming journey!
Thank you to ALL who have donated or pledged to donate to Bambi's cause. We are so appreciative to you all for helping this become a reality.
Please keep in mind for any future donations need to be received by Help Hope Live NO LATER THAN April 5th to allow time for processing.
Gratefully yours, Bambi and Kevin
Some friends in Indianapolis are looking to do some fundraising. If you are in Indianapolis and want to help out, leave me a note in the guest book.
No matter where you live, if you would like to have a fundraiser in my honor, I would be so grateful.
I'm getting things organized for the craft show this weekend. I hope we have lots of buyers and generous folks who wish to contribute to this awesome fund. 50% of the proceeds will go to this fund and then HelpHopeLive supplied me with brochures about this and a nice cover for the donation can. Hope everyone has a great weekend!
We will be a vendor at the show listed below, selling handmade jewelry and our new creatively designed candle holders. 50% of our sales will be contributed to this HelpHOPELive account.

Bambi, although our paths haven't really crossed in 36+ yrs., we have known each other since childhood. Those are good memories for me. I pray the monetary goal will be reached to allow for this procedure. God bless you in your journey.
