The Littlejohn Family
If you want to know Keather’s story from the beginning, read on.
On August 28th 2016, at the age of 13, life changed drastically for Keather Littlejohn. She was in a tragic car accident while coming home from a weekend getaway with her friends. She was taken to Strong Memorial Hospital and immediately underwent surgery. During her time of recovery she would, undergo five additional surgeries. Keather suffered a spinal cord injury at L1 L3 and is paralyzed from the waist down.
Keather is going to physical therapy at Shriners, she only attends weekly due to the barrier of not having a wheelchair lift. Currently her 80 year old grandfather and father take her out of the home daily to attend school and other medical appointments.
Before the accident, Keather was a very good student. She was involved in the STEM program and girl scouts. She enjoyed music she played the saxophone and the cello. In the summer of 2016 she had the opportunity to travel to Greece and Italy with her school.
Keather still faces many obstacles, but the biggest challenge is getting in and out of her home without significant modifications. Keather is currently 15 and she still enjoys school and she wants to be more independent, go to the mall, to the movies and visit with family and friends.
To help with the financial burden of Keather’s uninsured expenses, a fundraising campaign in her honor has been established with Help Hope Live, a trusted nonprofit organization that has been providing community-based fundraising guidance to patients and their families for more than 30 years. All donations are tax deductible to the full extent allowed by law and are held by Help Hope Live in the Mid-Atlantic Spinal Cord Injury Fund. The funds are administrated by Help Hope Live for injury-related expenses only. Please consider a contribution.

Thank you Keather! Your positivity is outrageously encouraging. Your strength to mentally get over any hardships you are facing is something I can’t say I have ever seen from someone I know personally. Can’t remember respecting someone more for doing something hard like that with a smiler on their face. You are an inspiration!
