Bobby grew up in Garner, North Carolina and began working with his dad’s construction business at the young age of 15. He ventured out on his own at the age of 18. He became a skillful framing carpenter and continued in this field until 2008 when he started to feel ill. At the end of 2009, Bobby’s doctors told him he would need a kidney transplant and told him to get on the transplant wait list. However, Bobby was in denial about the situation. It wasn’t until he was admitted to the hospital in 2013 that he realized how serious it was. Dialysis is keeping him alive, but it has been an adjustment for Bobby and his family. Together, Bobby and his family are committed to seeing him through this transplant but they are going to need help because even with insurance, transplants are very expensive.
