Pat has been diagnosed with Pyelonephritis, a disease that kills the filters in the kidneys. He has been on home dialysis for the past several years waiting for his call. Pat is a member of St. Francis Church in Grayling and does volunteer work for the Thrift Shop. He’s a very active person who enjoys nature and all it offers. Those activities are getting harder to do because of his illness; he is looking forward to doing them on a regular basis, including making maple syrup again. He is also looking forward to seeing his two grandchildren grow up.
Pat provided a wonderful service to the people in his community by being a public transit driver for 27 years. He needs a service in return. Transplants are lifesaving but financially draining. Even with insurance there are many expenses that must be covered out of pocket. Some of these are co-pays, deductibles, lab fee, transportation to and from the transplant center and relocation expenses at the time of transplant. In addition, Pat will be on a life-time of expensive anti-rejection medications. This is where your support is desperately needed.
To help with the financial burden of Pat’s uninsured expenses, a fundraising campaign in his honor has been established with Help Hope Live, a trusted nonprofit organization that has been providing community-based fundraising guidance to patients and their families for more than 30 years. All donations are tax deductible to the full extent allowed by law, are held by Help Hope Live in the Great Lakes Kidney Transplant Fund, and are administered by Help Hope Live for transplant-related expenses only. Please consider a contribution.
Thank you for your prayers and generosity, your support is greatly appreciated.
Gratefully,
Wendy Kucharek, Pat’s sister-in-law
