Millicent is a 59-year-old woman who has been struggling with kidney disease for 5 years and has been on dialysis for the last three years. She is dependent on the dialysis, which she does 5 nights a week. Her only chance to return to good health and the life she knew is a kidney transplant.

Transplants are lifesaving, but financially draining. Funding this life-saving surgery and the after-transplant care is a monumental task, as there will out of pocket medical expenses not covered by insurance including expensive post-transplant anti -rejection medications, insurance co-pays, deductibles, lab fees and related expenses that can be financially draining.

To help offset such expenses, a fundraising campaign in Millicent’s honor has been established with Help Hope Live, a trusted nonprofit organization that has been providing community-based fundraising guidance to patients and their families for more than 30 years. All donations are tax-deductible to the full extent allowed by law, are held by Help Hope Live in the South-Central Kidney Transplant Fund, and are administered by Help Hope Live for transplant-related expenses only. Transplant has been a success. Doctors are very pleased with match and recovery. It has been many years since I have felt human. My new life is now beginning. I do not know how to express my gratitude for your support and prayers in this journey. The next three months will be critical in keeping up with anti-rejection medications and lab work. Thank you seems so insufficient but please know I am grateful to each one.

Thank you to those who are helping with this. Unfortunately names of donors cannot be seen so I am unable to thank you individually. God bless you all.
