Dennis Larson is 73 years old with Kidney Disease. In 2011 after a hospitalization of 19 days for Idiopathic Trans verse Myelitis, he was diagnosed with kidney disease. With kidney failure progressing, dialysis is in the future and a kidney transplant is needed and help from the community is needed as transplants are very expensive. Dennis was placed on the transplant list in July of 2016. Being on the list restricts his activity as you have to be within 8 hrs of the transplant center. The cost of the anti-rejection drugs and uncovered expenses as almost prohibitive.
You may know Dennis from Lincoln County Rural Water as he was manager for 30 yrs. or Harrisburg United Methodist Church. After many years of helping others, Dennis is now the one who needs help. Transplantation and follow up medications are very expensive even with Medicare coverage. The anti-rejection drugs are not covered by insurance and costs over $1000 per month.
To help with the financial burden of Dennis’ uninsured expenses, a fundraising campaign in his honor has been established with Help Hope Live, a trusted nonprofit organization that has been providing community-based funding guidance to patients and their families for more than 30 years. All donations are tax deductible to the full extent allowed by law, are held by Help Hope Live in North Central Kidney Transplant Fund, and are administrated by Help Hope Live for transplant-related expenses only.
