Family and friends of Dan Long are raising money to pay for uninsured medical expenses associated with transplantation.
Dan (aka, Danny) and for some Coach has serious medical issues. In early 2013 after tons of tests he was diagnosed with Hemochromatosis HFE (iron overload). Basically, his major organs were saturated with iron and not able to function well. His liver, spleen and Gallbladder all have be hit hard. In addition, he was completely unaware of his condition, it is difficult to identify. As a result the medicine, alcohol and even fatty foods further damaged these already tasked organs over the past 20+ years..
In 2013, he completely changed his life with a organic and healthy diet, no alcohol ever and continued an active lifestyle. In addition he started his Phlebotomy (drains 350 ml of blood every three weeks) treatments for the iron issues and it has stabilized (this is very good news because it mean he can get better permanently). Now the very serious reality is he needs a liver transplant (that long process is active now). The goal is to find a live donor asap (Blood Type A+ or universal O+) and then once mostly recovered a second surgery to remove bad the gallbladder.
Daniel has chosen to fund raise with Help Hope Live in part because Help Hope Live assures fiscal accountability of funds raised and tax deductibility to the full extent allowed by law for donors. Donors can be sure that funds donated will be used only to pay or reimburse medically-related expenses. To make a tax-deductible donation to this fundraising campaign, click on the Donate Now button.

Thank you for your support!
Life is better than it has been it a very long time. I continue to heal and am reducing medications each month. I trust soon I will be back to work and living new experiences. Than you all,
Dan
On January 4th 2018 Dan received a full and healthy transplant. He is starting the year long recovery that will be slow and quite painful, but has the most positive view on a future. His new found hope and excitement carries him through each day with a smile.
