Kim and her family have lived in the Dallas area for more than 20 years. As a resident of Corinth, TX, Kim has been working for Hilton Worldwide until her Lupus came back in October of last year.

In early 2006, Kim’s Lupus had gotten so severe that it began affecting vital organs; thus putting her life in great danger. She was fortunate to be approved for an experimental, stem cell transplant that literally saved her life. The success of the transplant was unbelievable! It gave Kim a renewed quality of life and brought her back to us in a way we never thought possible. Unfortunately, that transplant benefit has run its course and the Lupus has returned….with a vengeance.

The experts at Northwestern Memorial Hospital, in Chicago, have re-evaluated Kim and determined that she is desperate need of a second stem cell transplant. This treatment requires Kim and one relative to live in Chicago for up to three months.

Because of the extraordinary expense of stem cell transplantation, she needs your help! Even with health insurance, there are numerous uncovered expenses such as medical deductibles, travel relocation expenses and of course the general expenses of keeping up housing and utilities for her two children. Fundraising is vital to the overall success of Kim’s struggle to survive.

This is why we are writing to you.
