Astrid is my wife, best friend, and the mother of our two young children, Kiela and Kaden. Our lives were forever changed in November 2016 when she was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis (MS). Her doctors believe that she was suffering from this debilitating disease this for some time per the quantity of lesions appearing in her brain and on her spine.
She has been evaluated at Northwestern Hospital in Chicago for a Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplant (HSCT). The medical team considers her an excellent candidate for this procedure. To participate, she will later return to Chicago for the harvesting of stem cells from her own bone marrow. She will undergo a light form of chemotherapy to basically destroy her current immune system. Her medical team will then transplant the harvested cells back into Astrid so that her immune system can essentially rebuild itself Needless to say, the related uninsured expenses will be an extreme hardship on our family. This is where your help is desperately needed.
