She has been evaluated at Northwestern Hospital in Chicago for a Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplant (HSCT). The medical team considers her an excellent candidate for this procedure. To participate, she will later return to Chicago for the harvesting of stem cells from her own bone marrow. She will undergo a light form of chemotherapy to basically destroy her current immune system. Her medical team will then transplant the harvested cells back into Astrid so that her immune system can essentially rebuild itself Needless to say, the related uninsured expenses will be an extreme hardship on our family. This is where your help is desperately needed.
To help with the financial burden of Astrid’s uninsured expenses, a fundraising campaign in her honor has been established with Help Hope Live, a trusted nonprofit organization that has been providing community-based fundraising guidance to patients and their families for more than 30 years. All donations are tax deductible to the full extent of the law, are held by Help Hope Live in the South-Central Stem Cell Transplant Fund, and are administered by Help Hope Live for transplant-related expenses only. Please consider a contribution.
So far there have been many cases where this treatment has fully cured the MS. We are reaching out to everyone we know to spread the word. If able to make a charitable contribution, thank you. If not, please keep us in your prayers, that we might be able to raise sufficient funds to enable the trips and payment for the medical procedures.
With gratitude,
Astrid and her family
I got my second insurance denial! When I was warned insurance would be a war they were not lying that's for sure!
Today was a rough one! Tricare denied us yet again, so we will keep the fight on.
Quick Update On April 25th Doctor Richard Burt accepted me as a patient and feels I would benefit greatly from this treatment. On May 10th we got our first Tricare Insurance denial letter! Dr Burt and his team sent in an appeal and we are waiting to hear back and will keep everyone posted as soon as we hear anything. We can only pray and hope for the best. We continue to ask for kind donations and or sharing our page <3
Thank You
I got Evaluation Dates! April 25th-27th yay please pray we get the full Yes.
Hi everyone. Astrid is my wife my best friend and mother of our two young children Kiela and Kaden. We are trying to raise funds for her new treatment. We are raising funds to enable medical procedures for her MS. she was diagnosed November 2016 but it is believed but doctors she has had this longer according the amounts of lesions she has in her brain and in spine. She was accepted for an evaluation to undergo stem cell replacement therapy for her multiple sclerosis. The evaluation itself is a few days where we will have to take the kids to Arizona so their g'ma and g'pa can watch them while we travel to Chicago for the evaluation. If all goes well with the evaluation, she will have to fly back for the therapy itself. They will have to harvest her stem cells in one session, then she has to do a light form of chemotherapy to sort of destroy her current immune system. Then they will transplant the harvested cells into her so her immune system can rebuild itself. The treatment plan is over the course of five years. We are not sure how long the sessions will be.
So far there have been many cases where this has fully cured the MS. We just want to reach out to everyone and if you are able to help, please do. If not please do keep us in your prayers, that we might be able to raise sufficient funds to enable the trips and payment for the medical procedures.
If you made it this far, thank you!
