Eric Scott Pierce is a 32-year-old father of 3. Shortly after getting married 4 years ago, Eric was diagnosed with polycystic kidney disease, which caused his kidneys to become enlarged and covered in cysts. Transplants are life-saving, but are very costly, so Eric needs some help.
He grew up in Mustang, Oklahoma. After graduating high school in 2005, he began working around airplanes, and it is now his passion. A kidney is the very thing he needs to help him continue to do what he loves, and watch his children grow. He enjoys staying busy working on cars, or going to the lake. He is looking forward to getting back the energy this disease has taken from him. He has many friends and family who are supporting him and seeing him through this journey.
As you can imagine, transplants are financially draining. Even with insurance, Eric will face a lifetime of costly monthly prescriptions, lab visits, and copays. He will also be temporarily unable to work for up to 6 months. This presents a challenge that Eric and his family cannot meet alone.
To help with the financial burden of Eric’s uninsured expenses, a fundraising campaign in his honor has been established with Help Hope Live, a trusted nonprofit organization that has been providing community based fundraising guidance to patients and their families for more than 30 years. All donations are tax deductible to the full extent of the law, are held by Help Hope Live in the South- Central Kidney Transplant Fund, and are administered by Help Hope Live for transplant related expenses only. Please consider a contribution.

Gratefully,
Margo Pierce, Eric’s Wife
It's been almost 6 months since Eric's transplant, and he is doing so well. He's been back at work full time for a while now,and his medicines are regulated. His kidney is working great, and he put back on weight that he lost while recovering. He has had energy that he forgot was possible to have. It's been great seeing him feel better, and have more energy to play with our kids. Thank you for praying and donating.

Eric was doing good there for a while but recently has developed an infection that is currently being treated. It resulted in him having to take a few additional days off work. He has been pretty weak and has lost a lot of weight with the help of his transplant team he is hoping to be back to himself very soon.
It's been over a month now since Eric's transplant. It was a scary & slow start because the kidney was not fully functional at first. We were nervous it might fail, but his levels slowly came down from in the 5's to a 2 as off yesterday. The lower the number the better. Thank you for your thoughts, prayers, and donations.
Eric received his life changing transplant on 8/3/17. He is healing and slowly getting back to normal. He has frequent lab work, ultrasounds, and clinic visits. Twice a week average. He takes a cocktail of pills twice daily and will be on them for the duration of the kidneys life to prevent rejection. He has a long road to full recovery ,and before returning to work as his body adjusts to the new kidney and medications. We are so thankful for any donations that can help with the bills we will soon be receiving, for Dr's visits, time off work, and all the medications, etc. We were unable to fully raise the funds needed before we got the call for his new kidney. Your support is greatly appreciated,God Bless.
Hello everyone. I recently had a checkup with my kidney Dr. She is still surprised, and pleased at how well I am doing and was very glad that Dr's didn't begin my dialysis at my hospital stay in may. I have had no change in the function I do have left which is what is helping me stay off of dialysis for now. My iron levels are still down from May, but I am taking iron supplements to try and get that back to normal. I am still very tired daily, but I do my best to stay active. I am still hoping to find a living donor or get my life saving phone call very soon.
Eric was recently in the hospital for a bad case of e-coli. While he was there they took a look at his kidneys. He has no left kidney anymore. It's completely shut down, enlarged, and covered in cysts. His right side is close behind. Please continue to pray for him and his family. We still hope & pray for a living donor, but at this point he'll take anything. He won't feel better at all until his damaged kidneys are removed.
Friends & Family I want to thank you all for being on this journey with me so far. I have been eagerly waiting on a transplant and have come close twice so far. I know that my day is soon approaching though, and so will hospital bills. That is why I am beginning this fundraiser to help cover all the expenses to come. Such as all of the new medication I will be on, as well as paying for the transplant. I am very thankful for all of the thoughts and prayers I continue to receive.
Eric, you are a strong capable young man. I admire your courage to face the physical challenges in your life while remaining a good husband, father, and son. I wish you the very best!

Eric, you will always be in my thoughts and prayers until you are healthy once again. You have three little kiddos that love you and are an encouragement to keep going. When you least expect it you will get that call that will change your life.
