David is the oldest of five siblings. He, his brother, and one sister are afflicted with a genetic condition that results in kidney failure. David was diagnosed at the age of 12 and successfully transplanted a year later. Unfortunately, last year he developed a rare autoimmune condition that attacked and destroyed his transplant. David is now back on dialysis, hoping for a second miracle. One of the first things people always notice about David is his warmth, humor, and good attitude. No matter how difficult things may be for him, he tries to help others and always with a smile. A transplant will help him return to a normal life, but transplants are expensive.
David is now 25 and lives independently. He loves movies, reading, and gaming. He still works part time in order to be able to pay his living expenses. He would really like to go back to school at some point, but right now he is exhausted all the time by work and dialysis. His family supports him as much as possible, but with three transplant recipients to care for, the out-of-pocket medical expenses are high.
David has chosen to fundraise with Help Hope Live in part because Help Hope Live assures fiscal accountability of funds raised and tax deductibility to the full extent allowed by law for donors. Donors can be sure that funds donated will be used only to pay or reimburse medically-related expenses. To make a tax-deductible donation to this fundraising campaign, click on the Donate Now button.
