Sean is a 45-year young man who is very ill battling End-Stage Renal Disease for the past fifteen years, with nearly the last ten on some form of dialysis. He needs a kidney transplant to not only improve his quality of life drastically, but to prospectively prolong it as well. The cost of a transplant can be overwhelming.

Transplants are lifesaving, but financially draining. Even with Medicare, Sean is facing very high out of pocket expenses, including co-pays, pre-and post-transplant clinic visits (travel/lodging/living) and even temporary relocation for up to 3 to six months to be closer to the University of Chicago Hospital for mandatory post op care.

To help with the financial burden of Sean’s uninsured expenses, a fundraising campaign in his honor has been established with Help Hope Live, a trusted nonprofit organization that has been providing community-based fundraising guidance to patients and their families for more than 30 years.
