My sister, Shawn Stumpf, is a loving mother, daughter, sister, and friend who needs a lifesaving pancreas transplant. This will be her 2nd transplant and we are asking for your support. A transplant can be very overwhelming. We would like to help make this as easy a process as possible for Shawn pre-transplant, through her surgery and then recovery.
Shawn grew up in the Memorial area of Houston, TX and about six years ago settled in Brookshire. The oldest of three siblings, Shawn grew up loving the outdoors and all animals. She attended Hastings, then Academy Hall and briefly studied at Wharton Community College and then University of St. Thomas . Shawn went on to have a beautiful daughter, Carson Rowe, now 9 years old. Carson is her heart and soul. Sadly, Shawn’s illness prevents her from working and can hold her back from taking the active role in her daughter’s school life as she once did through the PTA and as cheer coach.
Shawn was born with diabetes, but was not officially diagnosed until age 7. Her illness progressed to stage-4 ESRD (End Stage Renal Disease). In 2009, after extensive testing, it was determined I would be a good living kidney donor for my sister followed by a cadaver pancreas transplant. Now eight years later, she needs a 2nd pancreas transplant to ensure that the kidney will remain in good shape allowing her not only to survive but thrive.
Transplants are life-saving, but financially draining. Even with insurance, Shawn is facing very high expenses including checkups, post-transplant medications, co-pays, lab fees, and more. This presents a challenge that Shawn and her family cannot meet alone.
To help with the financial burden of uninsured expenses, a fundraising campaign has been established in honor of Shawn Stumpf-Rowe with Help Hope Life, a trusted nonprofit organization that has been providing community based fundraising guidance to help patients and families in need for over 30 years. All donations are tax deductible to the full extent by law and are held by Help Hope Live in the South-Central Pancreas Transplant Fund in honor of Shawn Stumpf-Rowe. Donations are allocated by Help Hope Live based on financial need for medical expenses. Please consider making a contribution today.

On behalf of Shawn and her family, thank you for your support and generosity.
With sincere gratitude,
Nicole Stumpf, Shawn’s sister
