Jerald Collens is a 57-year-old resident of Glendale AZ who needs a lifesaving kidney transplant. He needs the help of his friends and community to make it happen. Transplants are lifesaving but very expensive.
Jerald was diagnosed with IGA Nephropathy while emigrating to the U.S. in 1998. IGA Nephropathy is a condition that has symptomatic treatments but no known cure. Jerald’s nephrologist has said that Jerald is his miracle patient due to the amount of time he has been able to sustain livelihood without yet having required dialysis or a transplant. Recently, Jerald has had a fistula surgically implanted in his arm in the event that he needs to begin dialysis before a transplant can happen. While preparing for the financial aspects of transplant, Jerald is also seeking viable living donors that would be willing to be tested for compatibility matching and successfully act as a living donor.
